Boston City Councilor Brian Worrell
Born to immigrant parents and raised in Boston, City Council Vice-President Brian Worrell serves the neighborhoods of Dorchester and Mattapan in Boston’s District 4. He attended elementary and highschool through the METCO program, and obtained his bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University in accounting and entrepreneurship. As a City Councilor, his main priorities include the economic empowerment of Black and Brown communities, and especially small businesses, through a variety of initiatives such as Black Wall Street and liquor licensing. In addition, his office has placed a strong focus on affordable housing and anti-displacement policy in order to protect low-income residents and others who are disproportionately impacted by gentrification and rising housing costs. This year, as the Chair of the Ways and Means committee, he also led the city council through a data driven budget process that was widely commended.
