Zev Ramey-Winikur is a rising senior at Boston Latin School. Zev was born in Roslindale where he still lives and has always loved the community. This summer, Zev will serve his Fellowship in the office of State Senator Lydia Edwards.

From Zev’s first years of high school, he has always loved his community. Every Saturday, Zev would volunteer at his local farmers market aiding in running the community event. There, Zev began to connect with his local community members and his local farmers. The farmer’s market taught Zev how much he enjoyed public service.

Last year, Zev also was part of the National Parks of Boston PLACE fellowship. There, Zev learned about public service and different career fields in public service. A memorable moment from that trip was visiting Frederick Law Olmsted’s house. There, Zev learned that public service catered to a wide array of careers and that a person could do what they enjoyed, like creating parks and helping the greater good.

In school, Zev is the President of the Jewish Culture Club and recently brought around 200 students to a Holocaust museum to help further education around the historical event.

Zev has always loved people and enjoyed public service. Senator Lydia Edwards’s campaigns on housing and environmental justice are very closely linked to Zev’s interests. By observing how Senator Edwards’s office runs, Zev hopes to gain more knowledge about future careers in public service.
