Sharahn “Star” Pullum is a graduate of Boston Latin School and an incoming freshman at Morgan State University, where she plans to major in Business on the pre-med track with a minor in Political Science.

Born and raised in Boston, Sharahn grew up as the oldest sister in a large family, an experience that taught her the importance of leadership, dependability, and serving others. Those values have shaped both her personal and professional aspirations. She hopes to become both a business owner and a traveling OB-GYN, combining her passions for entrepreneurship, healthcare, and community service. In the future, she also plans to use her education in political science to become civically engaged and advocate for the communities she serves.

Throughout high school, Sharahn challenged herself academically by taking courses including AP Biology, AP U.S. Government and Politics, AP Statistics, and Economics to prepare for her multidisciplinary career goals. Beyond the classroom, she served as a youth leader with MissionSAFE and participated in Catholic Charities’ HEAL Boston program. At Boston Latin School, she was actively involved as a member of the Young Women of Color Club, the Black Leaders Aspiring for Change (BLS Black Club), the STEP Squad, and the Outdoor Track & Field team, where she developed leadership, teamwork, and community-building skills.

Sharahn has a deep appreciation for creativity in all its forms, including visual art, cosmetology, interior design, baking, cooking, music, and dance. Most importantly, she believes that the greatest art is the art of loving and helping others. Whether through healthcare, entrepreneurship, community service, or simply showing up for those around her, she strives to leave every person and place better than she found it. Through years of public speaking in Boston Latin School’s Declamation, she has strengthened her confidence and communication skills, preparing her to use her voice to advocate for herself and for those whose voices have too often gone unheard. As a John William Ward Fellow, Sharahn looks forward to growing as a leader, expanding her understanding of public service, and building meaningful connections throughout her journey.
