Standing at an astounding four feet and ten inches, Natasha Marie Farrell is a force to be reckoned with. With a determined look in her eyes, a powerful walk that screams dominance, and a presence that commands attention, it is not surprising that some would take this self-confidence for intimidation. However, just as the old saying goes, “looks can be deceiving” and this girl’s stature proves it.

Natasha was born on August 23, 1991 at midnight, just a few minutes shy of being born on the same date as her mother. With her extensive Caribbean upbringing, it was obvious that she was destined for great things. Attending St. Patrick’s Grammar School from the ages of four to eleven provided her with the educational foundation necessary to succeed at the top exam school in the city, Boston Latin School. In September of 2005, as soon as Natasha set foot inside the infamous building she longed to be able to leave the ocean of purple within a few days with a transfer in hand.

But after spending three years at Latin, Natasha has grown to appreciate the school. Simply attending the demanding school provided her with numerous opportunities that she would not have received elsewhere. Throughout her tenure at Boston Latin, she has been a part of number of different clubs including Wolfpack Volunteers, Key Club, and the notorious Latin School Step Squad. Because of the large number of clubs and organizations within the Latin School community, she has been able to become a more diverse and well-rounded person.

Prior to being accepted as a Ward Fellow, public service has always been an interest of Natasha’s. She has always had a passion for helping people and providing for the common good. This passion, led her to participate in summer internships in the medical field. However, after shadowing a dental professional in the summer of 2007, she decided to shift her attention from the medical field toward one that interested her more: law. As a child, she has always been fascinated with courtroom dramas and the legal process. Watching Law & Order: SVU and Court TV everyday her desire to enter the law profession. Also, in her eyes, she saw this career as a way of combining her love of helping people and her passion for the legal system.

Having been chosen as one of the seventeen Ward Fellows of 2008, Natasha is working under Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis for the remainder of the summer.
