Mahleel Parihan is a rising senior at Boston Latin School. She was born and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh and moved to the US at 10 years old, where she learned to adapt and embrace her new community and heritage. Mahleel is deeply passionate about helping her community, which is what inspired her to pursue public service.
Mahleel uses her passion for leadership by volunteering in many parts of Boston Latin School. She volunteers at the school’s main office, helping with administrative tasks. She is also the secretary of BLS Pen Pals, and the leading officer for BLS East Africa.
She is very proud of south Asian heritage. She loves to share her culture through dance. She has performed and organized events for BLS Desi Club and the Bangladesh Association of New England (BANE), a non-profit organization that provides civic support along with cultural education, and events.
Mahleel is honored to be working with U.S. District Judge Patti Saris through the Ward Fellowship where she hopes to explore the judicial system further.
