Jasmine Tran-Le is a rising senior at Boston Latin School and a lifelong resident of Dorchester, Boston. She is passionate about public service, community advocacy, and learning from the stories that shape the people and neighborhoods around her.
At Boston Latin School, Jasmine is involved in FIRST Robotics Competition and DECA, where she has developed skills in teamwork, leadership, creative problem-solving, and communication. Through robotics, she enjoys collaborating with teammates to tackle engineering challenges, while DECA has allowed her to strengthen her business knowledge and compete at the state level. These experiences have strengthened her interest in collaboration, critical thinking, and leadership, complementing her curiosity about both STEM and the humanities.
Much of Jasmine’s work outside the classroom centers on community organizing. As a Youth Leader with VietAID and a Fellow at the Asian American Resource Workshop, she has contributed to initiatives supporting tenant protections, anti-displacement efforts, and advocacy for Southeast Asian communities. She also volunteers as a peer tutor, working one-on-one with a middle school student in math and English to help build confidence and academic success.
Jasmine believes that every person has a story worth hearing and that understanding history and lived experiences is key to creating stronger, more connected communities. This summer, she is honored to serve as a fellow with Jeffrey Shapiro at the Office of the Inspector General, where she hopes to deepen her understanding of public accountability and how the government can better serve the people it represents.
