Gabriella is a graduating senior of Boston Latin School, and will be attending the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, studying political science.
She was born and raised in Dorchester by Vietnamese immigrants who traveled to Boston after the Vietnam War. This fostered a desire in a career centered around humanitarian aid and political advocacy.
During her time at Boston Latin School, Gabriella has spent much of her high school career integrating herself in the cultures surrounding her. As President of Latin School’s Dance Club, she choreographed and performed for events such as the annual Martin Luther King Assembly. As an executive officer for Asian Students In Action, she facilitated 1000+ crowd shows and workshops promoting cultural immersion.
This past summer, Gabriella was accepted to and worked under the Seevak Fellowship focused on non profit advocacy work. As an Intern for Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción’ Youth Development Program Intern she met Pedro Cruz—the former Director at IBA’s YDP and current executive director of the Office of Youth Engagement and Advancement in Boston. Within public service, Pedro saw a new opportunity to make an impact on a greater number of people while still engaging with the community of Boston, drawing Gabriella towards the Ward Fellowship and public service.
As an intern under Massachusetts State Representative Adrian Madaro, Gabriella looks forward to exploring the intersection between public service, community, and international relations.
