Cinly is a lifetime resident of the South End. Originally from Hong Kong, her family immigrated to the United States in pursuit of economic advancement, democratic values, and most importantly educational opportunity.

Through her high school career, various leadership positions have shaped her interest in public service. As co-president of Boston Latin School’s A.S.I.A.(Asian Students in Action), she channeled the deeply positive sense of community with the spirit of activism in the Asian-American community through organizing frequent community-building activities and workshop events on topics such as mental health in Asian-America, the model minority, and redlining in Chinatown.

She believes that the power to improve lives also comes from directly working with those who create and enforce policy, to hold those who profiteer off of the marginalized accountable. This summer, she’s had the incredible opportunity to intern with U.S. District Judge Patti Saris.

Moving forward, Cinly hopes to use her education to become familiar with the systems that organize our society and how they can be applied to promote equity and inclusion.
