Christopher Muzac lives in Roslindale, MA, and goes to Boston Latin School. In BLS, he is a part of the highest orchestra, Concert String Orchestra, and a member of Young Men of Color.

Chris is also Haitian American, and both of his parents were born in Haiti. His interest in public service started with a summer job before sophomore year. He canvassed around Dorchester to inform residents about one of the questions on that year’s ballet. He witnessed and realized that in Boston, there are people out there that do not fully know about what they are voting for all the time. Chris believes it is important for everyone to know what they are voting for in order to help their own community. Over the next year, he started to look at what he can personally do in his community. He heard about the Ward Fellowship junior year and applied, hoping to learn more about how Boston serves its community, and to see if he can do that as a career.

Chris’s Haitian identity is a big part of who he is, as well as another factor in wanting to look into public service. Witnessing the Haitian migrant situation in Massachusetts, Chris felt personally connected to the situation, and wanted to know how the city was dealing with it. He wanted to learn more about why there are not many places to house them, as well as how they are housing the homeless people already in Massachusetts. Chris wants to figure out what type of career he can do that can help these issues in the future, and hopefully make a change in his life for people that are trying to get a better life, like his parents did.
