Brigitte Currier is a rising senior at Boston Latin School. She was born and raised in the city of Boston and loves connecting with her community. Volunteering at the Phoenix sober active community and working as an administrative assistant at a hair salon has provided her with the unique opportunity to know some of the residents of Boston and create meaningful connections.
At Boston Latin School, Brigitte works in the main office and serves on the Junior Class Committee that fundraises for events. She sings in both concert and gospel choir where she enjoys her love of music. She also takes photos for the Argo, the school newspaper, and volunteers as a tour guide for prospective Boston Latin Students.
Beyond the classroom, Brigitte has interned for Boston City Councilor Edward Flynn, assisting with writing legislation, attending meetings, and researching for hearings. She also led a committee which placed 200 books in under-resourced and less diverse Boston area schools. In her free time, she loves baking, spending time with family and friends, reading, and satiating her growing interest in the federal government.
Through the Ward Fellowship, Brigitte will be interning with Suffolk County District Attorney, Kevin Haden. Brigitte was drawn to the Fellowship by her desire to learn the inner workings of the court system and learn more about what challenges residents face in their lives.
