Brendan Hobbs is a rising senior at Boston Latin School who was born and raised in Dorchester. Growing up, Brendan played just about every sport from Hockey to Gaelic Football, introducing him to many different cultures and people. He is currently a member of the BLS Boys Varsity Soccer Team and plays for Commonwealth FC in the spring.
Growing up, Brendan attended the Saint Brendan Elementary School, the Oliver Hazard Perry School, and the Richard J. Murphy School prior to attending Boston Latin School. Switching schools multiple times has taught Brendan the importance of empathy as he has interacted with such a vast amount of different people over the years.
Brendan spends his free time volunteering for the Martin Richard Foundation as a coach for third and fourth graders in street hockey. He is also a member of BLS Learning About Biochemistry and BLS Model UN. Brendan has always had an interest in civics and law, however this interest was cultivated when he participated in the Discovering Justice program with Mr. Ruzzo in eighth grade. Meeting with real lawyers weekly during this program developed Brendan’s interest in the legal system as he finds the entire judicial branch fascinating.
Brendan is excited to learn the ins and outs of the law this summer while working for Judge Cathleen Campbell this summer.
