Bridget Blair is a rising senior at Boston Latin School. She was born in Boston and grew up in West Roxbury.
At school, Bridget is Co-Editor-in-Chief of the school newspaper, the Argo, captain of the Mock Trial team, and Secretary-General of the Model UN club. Through these positions, Bridget has enjoyed learning and teaching about advocacy, public speaking, law, and policy. Bridget has also pursued her passion for community and advocacy outside of school by serving two terms on the Mayor’s Youth Council. On the Mayor’s Youth Council, she worked to increase public awareness and community engagement in public works processes. Bridget firmly believes in the importance of community engagement and input throughout all parts of the city and state government.
Last summer, Bridget worked at the Supreme Judicial Court through the Judicial Youth Corps program. She enjoyed conducting legal research and hearing various perspectives about law, government, and the judiciary.
Bridget has been inspired to be a Ward Fellow since ninth grade when she learned about fellow Mock Trial members participating in the fellowship. She hopes to further expand her knowledge about public service and is excited to work with City Councilor Gabriela Coletta Zapata to learn more about community engagement and the legislative body of the City of Boston.
