Catherine Puyat

Catherine Puyat is a rising senior at Boston Latin School and moved to Boston from San Francisco when she was seven years old. Her passion for public service began in 6th grade, where she participated in her school’s MUN conference and was able to travel to New York and visit the United Nations Headquarters with her classmates. She plans to study political science in college and attend law school after that.

Another important influence on Catherine’s passion for public service was her yearly trips to the Philippines, where she was from a young age that growing up in the United States and getting an education was a privilege that not everyone has.

Within Boston Latin, Catherine continues to pursue her interest in social justice and public service through her club, Social Justice Advocacy, a club dedicated to facilitating topics and discussions about social justice topics and fundraising for various organizations. Leading club meetings and discussions sharpened Catherine’s leadership and public speaking skills. Outside of school, you can find Catherine working at her local community garden or in the kitchen learning how to cooks something new.
