Lindsay Dieudonné
My name is Lindsay Dieudonné, I was born in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. I was born to a strong entrepreneur whom I call my mother, and a law enforcement chief officer whom I called my father. I spent my early years in Haiti, mostly shadowing and chasing my father everywhere he went. I remember seeing the people who admired him for his generosity and his integrity, the same people who trusted him because he was an honest officer in a corrupted government. My father instilled in me at a very young age a love for justice and service. When I was eight years old I lost my father. I was only eight, I didn’t know the details, I just knew that my dad was gone forever. Through his memory and his legacy, I found my desire to serve and help my community to my fullest capacity. I applied for Ward because I am fortunate enough to know people who benefited greatly from the network they built. Ward provides the fellows with great opportunities to meet respected members of our government, both local and federal, and learn from them. Public service is not easy but it definitely makes it worth it to serve and give back.
One cool fact about myself is that I have attended 14 different schools in my life. One thing I hope to gain from this fellowship is a better understanding of public service and a network of people who will guide me and help me on my journey through and after college. I will be attending Suffolk University in the fall of 2019 as a Law major with a concentration in government and public policy.
