Andrea Campbell is a Bostonian born and raised. Growing up, she lost her parents and it was only her and her twin brother, Andre. They both went through much in their lifetime, and though they grew up alike, their paths would split in two different directions. He eventually died at the age of 29. Campbell says she often looks to her own family when thinking about the service she can provide for the city. Today she works as a city councilor representing District 4. Her zone goes across Dorchester, Mattapan, and parts of Roslindale and Jamaica Plain. As a Boston native, she attended Boston Latin School, a prestigious exam school, and went on to Princeton and UCLA Law. Campbell is creating initiatives around education and community policing. She will be hosting a Ward fellow again this year, which no doubt will learn from such an accomplished woman.
