Benjamin Lee

Ben Lee was born in 2002 in Boston, MA, and has spent his entire life living in Boston. Prior to beginning his career at Boston Latin School in 2014, he attended the Conservatory Lab Charter School.

Ben’s interest in government and public service was sparked by a trip to Washington DC in which he was able to watch the Senate vote live. He was struck by the amount of conviction and care the Senators had for their constituents, and how they expressed that through their speech. After this experience, he began to follow politics more closely, eventually volunteering on Governor Charlie Baker’s re-election campaign in 2018. Ben also has an interest in law, and spent the summer of 2019 as an intern at the Boston law firm Mintz Levin.

While at Boston Latin, Ben played on the baseball team, and played flute in the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band. He lives in Brighton with his younger brother, Oliver, and his parents, Felice and Spence.

This summer, Ben is excited to be working for Mr. Jack McCarthy, Executive Director of the Massachusetts School Building Authority, alongside fellows Jasmine Wong, Xiangan He, and Elizabeth Resner. He is eager to learn about how the agency works, and what it does to positively affect communities across the state.
