James Duane was born and raised in the West End of Boston. Having attended Boston Latin School since seventh grade, he graduated in June 2000, he will attend Lehigh University in Pennsylvania in the fall. James' favorite classes were history, English, and government and he is a member of the National Honor Society. One of his proudest accomplishments at Latin was being elected Secretary of the Class of 2000. James was also active in athletics, having lettered once in track, and twice in wrestling, soccer, and baseball during his Wolfpack career. He also enjoys travel. James' interest in government began at a young age, and he plans to continue to further that interest in college. While he has no set long-term plans, he would be interested in a career in government or public service. He hopes that his experiences with the Ward Fellowship will nurture this interest and provide unique insights and opportunities. The chance to help his community in the future was very important to his decision to apply. He is grateful for his selection into the program. James’ host official is City Councilor At-Large Stephen J. Murphy. |
