About the Program
Douglas Le

This summer, Douglas Le is interning at the Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) of Suffolk County. He has always had an interest in government, and the Ward Fellowship has allowed him to gain personal enrichment in this field. Through the CAC, which is based in the office of District Attorney Ralph C. Martin, he is able to experience not only how legal prosecution for the Commonwealth is practiced, but also how a non-profit organization functions and serves the community. The integration of law and social work at the CAC complements his foremost interest in community service and activism. Douglas is a native of Roslindale. At Boston Latin, he is a leading member of the Gay/Straight Alliance and Amnesty International. An involved part of the Fine and Performing Arts Department, he has done crew and designed for a number of Drama Club productions and sits as the principal cello of the BLS String Ensemble. After he graduates in 2001, Douglas plans to go on to study Theater Arts and English. He hopes to make a career out of his studies and design for the theater, teach, or work in construction. He dreams of doing much traveling in the future and continuing his involvement in the community.
