The Honorable Judge Cathleen Campbell grew up in Brighton, Massachusetts. Judge Campbell and her family still live in Brighton today. Judge Campbell and her husband have 2 children, a son who recently graduated from Northeastern University and a daughter who currently plays ice hockey at Amherst College. Judge Campbell herself was a Ward Fellow and graduated from Boston Latin School in 1986. Judge Campbell then went on to become a double husky as she graduated from Northeastern University and Northeastern University Law School. Her first job after graduating from law school was with her former ward sponsor at the sheriff’s department from 1992-1996. Judge Campbell then worked in the District Attorney’s office from 1996-1999. She began her own law practice in 1999 and established a partnership for a small firm in 2004. Then, in 2012 Judge Cathleen Campbell was appointed to the Massachusetts District Court by Governor Duvall Patrick. Recently, in 2021, Judge Campbell was promoted to the Massachusetts Superior Court by Governor Charlie Baker, where she currently hears both criminal and civil cases in Middlesex Superior Court.
